About Us

The "Farm Life" is so different from how I was raised and how I've lived most of my adult life. I had no idea that I'd be doing what I'm doing today just a few short years ago. My wife and I have always wanted land in the country so we could enjoy the slower pace that comes along with country living lifestyle. We purchased our 150-acre farm located in Charleston, TN, also known in these part as "The Valley", in 2020. We immediately picked a perfect location to build our beautiful farmhouse, up on a small knoll overlooking the lush green pastures with the Old Red barn off in the distance.

At that time, our son was showing some interest in agriculture, so our original plans were to do a little hay production and possibly have a few acres sown in corn. After a little research and gaining some valuable knowledge from local farmers here in "The Valley", we realized due to the startup expense, hard work, and to be honest the fact that there just wasn't any profit to be made, this was not the direction we wanted to go. For several months we really didn't know what we were going to do with this beautiful property God had blessed us with.

After lots of prayer and a little you-tubing, we came up with the crazy idea of raising livestock for the purpose of selling Beef, Pork, Poultry, and Eggs to our friends and neighbors in the surrounding community. But our first challenge was to come up with a name for our newly found adventure, which turned out to be quite a struggle. After several weeks of brain storming, family meetings, and countless possible names on our list, we finally decided on "Valley Farms". Seems so simple now, being that "Welcome to the Valley" was how the local farmers around here always greeted someone moving into the area.

With our first task behind us, we then turned our attention to exactly what we were going to raise here at Valley Farms and how we were going to raise it. We quicky decided that we didn't want to be just another farm like the ones down the road. We wanted to be different and be able to offer something our customs couldn't get just anywhere. So, we decided to raise our livestock in a traditional/wholesome way. Here at Valley Farms, we raise high-end Registered Red Angus Beef Cattle, Registered Berkshire Pigs, Meat Chickens, Turkeys, and Laying Hens on pasture with a supplement of grain to their daily diet. This gives them plenty of room to roam with lots of fresh air and all the sunshine they want.

Valley Farms has quickly grown to over 45 head of Red Angus Cattle, 25 Berkshire pigs, and over 250 different types of poultry with plenty of room to grow. Our plan is to continue to grow our farm until we can meet the demands of our customers. We are excited about the future and look forward to making lots of great memories on our farm, “Valley Farms”!!!
